• Multiband Upward/Downward CompressionThree-band dynamics processing with independent upward expansion (bringing up quiet details) and downward compression (taming peaks). The Depth control scales overall intensity, while Upward and Downward controls let you balance between lifting quiet content and squashing loud peaks.
• Two Reconstruction ModesRecon chooses how the band gains reach your audio. Stadium splits the signal through the crossovers and sums it back: magnitude-flat, but the sum is an allpass, which is where the big, wide character comes from. Tight applies the same gains as shelves and never splits the audio, so there is no phase rotation at all and the low end stays firm. The compressor's decisions are identical in both; only the delivery changes. Stadium is the default, so existing projects sound exactly as they did.
• Per-Band WaveshapingEach band has an independent Curve control that adds harmonic richness and perceived loudness without traditional clipping artifacts. Use subtle settings for warmth or push harder for aggressive saturation. Curve Type picks the shape: Modelled for colour and density, Smooth for a more transparent version with far less aliasing. Pro tip: set all Curves to 100% and blend in with Depth and Mix for rich harmonic saturation.
• Per-Band Threshold & Ratio ControlsFine-tune the compression character of each band independently. Threshold controls set where compression kicks in, while Ratio controls determine how aggressively peaks are reduced. Dial in different behaviors for low-end punch, midrange presence, and high-end sparkle.
• Smooth ModeEnable Comp Smooth for a more transparent, mastering-friendly character. It switches detection from instantaneous peaks to a 10 ms RMS average and applies a 6 dB soft knee, so the compressor eases in over a range instead of snapping at the threshold. Ideal for mix bus duties or when you want the density without the aggression.
• Sidechain High-Pass (SC HP)The SC HP control filters low frequencies from the compressor's detection circuit (0-200 Hz). This prevents sub-bass content from triggering excessive gain reduction, eliminating unwanted pumping while maintaining tight low-end control.
• Smart Clip 0dB LimitingEnable Smart Clip to prevent output from exceeding digital full-scale. A soft-clipper followed by a hard limiter ensures clean peaks without harsh digital overs, perfect for pushing levels while maintaining headroom.
• Per-Band Mix ControlThe Mix knob provides true parallel compression. The blend is applied per band inside the processing rather than across the finished output, so wet and dry stay aligned with each other at every setting. In Tight, Mix at 0% returns your input untouched.
• 24dB/Octave CrossoversLinkwitz-Riley filters split the signal into three bands with steep 24dB/octave slopes and clean magnitude response through the crossover points. Movable Low/Mid and Mid/High frequencies let you place the bands where the material needs them.
